Final Venture Lab Project

MODLIVING

Overview

The Venture Lab is an incubator course for design-based startup projects. It is not a design course, in the traditional sense of an architecture program. The Venture Lab provided training, guidance, and an ecosystem of experts to generate new business ideas and take the first steps towards the creation of company projects, or the transformation of an existing company. The lab combined practical workshops, seminar sessions, and mentoring sessions with an ecosystem of professionals. The Lab culminated with a final group project, including a written Executive Report, Product Mockups, a Financial Model, and an Investor Pitch presentation in front of a panel.

The key feature of the ModLiving system is that it is expandable.
This provides the client flexibility in cost and program but also supplies the business model with long-term financial relationships.

Once a client independently chooses a plot of land, they can choose from pre-designed prefab modules on through the website.

Modules are broken down into 3 different components:
Structure, Envelope, Fittings, and Finishes.

These components are integrated into the base price-point but the latter two can be adjusted to match the budget of our clients.
